Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know — before you buy and after.

What is an eSIM?
A virtual SIM that downloads directly to your phone — no plastic to insert, nothing to ship. You activate it via QR code or an activation code, and it runs alongside your regular SIM.
What are the main benefits?
Activation in minutes, no physical SIM to swap when you travel, and the option to buy in advance and only activate on arrival. Your home line stays free for calls and SMS.
Which devices are compatible?
All iPhones from XS onwards and most Android phones from 2020 onwards (Samsung Galaxy S20+, Pixel 3+, Huawei P40+ and similar). See the full list on our Compatibility page.
Are calls and SMS included in eSIM plans?
No, eSIM plans are data only. For calls use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger or any other VoIP app — they all work over the eSIM's data connection.
How many eSIMs can my device hold?
Depends on the model: recent iPhones store up to 8 eSIM profiles, Android varies. Either way, only one can be active for data at a time.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — if you haven't installed the eSIM yet, or if it was activated but doesn't work for reasons on our side. Reach out to support describing the issue and we'll review your case.
What connection speed does it offer?
4G almost everywhere, 5G where the local carrier supports it. Actual speed depends on the destination country's coverage, exactly like with a regular SIM.
Will I get a phone number with the eSIM?
No — data eSIMs don't include a number. Your main SIM keeps its number for calls and SMS; the eSIM just adds predictable-cost data on top.
When should I buy the eSIM?
Whenever you like — validity starts at first connection to a network in the destination country, not at purchase. Buy it relaxed before you leave and activate it on arrival.
How do I buy an eSIM?
Pick a destination, choose the data plan that suits you, and pay securely by card (handled by Stripe). The QR code and install instructions arrive by email immediately.
I can't find a plan for the country I'm visiting.
Try a regional plan (covers several countries in the same area) or a global plan (worldwide coverage). If nothing fits, contact us — we'll look for a tailored solution.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where available. Payments are processed by Stripe (PCI-DSS certified).
How do I install the eSIM on my device?
Open the confirmation email and scan the QR code from your phone's settings (Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM on iPhone; Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM on Android). You can also enter the activation code manually.
How long can I use the eSIM?
Depends on the plan you chose — days of validity and included gigabytes are shown on each plan card and in your confirmation email. The clock starts at first activation on the destination network.
Will my physical SIM still work?
Yes. The eSIM sits alongside your main SIM: you decide which line to use for calls, SMS and data. To avoid roaming charges, set the eSIM as your data line and turn off data on your home SIM.
Can I use the same eSIM on more than one device?
No — each eSIM is bound to a single device. If you travel with a tablet and a phone, buy one eSIM per device — or share the connection via the phone's hotspot.
How do I check my data usage?
Directly in your phone's settings, just like any SIM. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular. On Android: Settings → Connections → Data usage. We'll also email you when usage approaches the plan limit.
Can I pause my eSIM?
You can't pause the validity period. If you want to stop using data temporarily, just disable the eSIM line in your phone settings — but the remaining days keep counting down.
Can I reinstall an eSIM?
No: once removed from the phone, the eSIM can't be reinstalled, for profile-security reasons. If you no longer need it, we recommend disabling it rather than removing it.
What happens if I delete my eSIM?
It becomes permanently unusable, even if validity hasn't expired. Contact support before deleting if you're unsure — in some cases we can help recover the plan.
Can I transfer an eSIM between devices?
eSIMs are not transferable. To share the connection with another device, turn on the hotspot from the phone where the eSIM is installed.
How do I remove the eSIM profile after it expires?
On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → select the eSIM → Remove Cellular Plan. On Android: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → select the eSIM → Remove.
